Coffee is the highest foreign exchange earner for Papua New Guinea, the majority of which is grown in the Eastern Highland Province, the Western Highland Province and Simbu. With the industry not derived on a colonial plantation-based system, production is largely by small farmers with land holdings that grow as little as 20 trees per plot in “coffee gardens” alongside subsistence crops.

Kimel is one of the very few estates in PNG and is situated to the north of Mount Hagen. It operating its own wet and dry mill, covers 600 hectares and accepts the production of local and village plantations which covers an additional 1000 hectares. Growing Arusha, Bourbon, Typica varietals, the original trees on the estate were from the Jamaican Blue Mountains. A combination of the unique environment and plantation practices such using coffee pulp for fertiliser, dried husks for heating and fresh, unpolluted water from the mountains all add to the estates sustainability practices. Kimel beans are acknowledged for their distinctive characteristics, especially the savoury notes and bright, very pleasant acidity

Review : Hi Andrew I bought Blend 2 from PNG packet from you at the show this year. We used up our open coffee packet before opening the PNG packet & made it last because we liked & appreciated it so much, so now the packet's finished I'm finally letting you know what we thought of it. It was delicious, the aroma was the best we've had in a long time. It was flavourful and very tasty, an excellent coffee. Best wishes Claire Bailey

Hi there thanks for the question and yes it would ,but any of the single origins would be suitable for pour overs .

Do you do this in a dark roast
